We are seeking a Business Development Manager (BDM) to join our family-owned company and dynamic team. The main responsibility of a Business Development Manager (BDM) is to deliver our promise to our clients by creating a sales pipeline with our existing and new customers via the service team that works with you.

Business Development Manager (BDM) is responsible for expanding our presence in the led market. Your primary objective is to establish relationships within the industrial and commercial market and manage the sales process to execute and deliver on sales targets. The BDM must be a highly self-motivated, results-oriented individual who is comfortable in an entrepreneurial environment and has the vision and experience to develop and manage an effective set of market development initiatives for large end-customer accounts.

Duties will include:

  • Establish relationships with existing and prospecting customers, acquiring new business, and identifying sales opportunities.
  • Leverage existing relationships and referrals to identify sales opportunities.
  • Build relationships with customers at all levels of professional engagement, from technicians to a Director.
  • Analyze customers’ current spending, in order to demonstrate how to save them money or improve their situation.
  • Analyze customers’ needs and objectives, align solutions to customers’ objectives, issue resolution, and deliver on those solutions.
  • Own strategic relationships within your portfolio and leverage business tools and industry data to provide insight and make recommendations that will add value to your customer by partnering with you.
  • Ensure to be knowledgeable of market trends in relation to your portfolio allowing a proactive and responsive engagement through all stages of the sales cycle.
  • Strategically identify and engage with prospective customers.
  • Ensure all sales activities and communication to clients are inputted in the CRM, in order to effectively manage client expectations and ensure all deliverables are executed.
  • Complete all necessary administrative work and any other software that Service Heroes utilize with honesty and integrity.
  • Maintain an accurate activity log in CRM.
  • Ensure that the external sales team are kept informed of any developments relevant to accounts.
  • Represent the company at public meetings about projects and in industry forums.
  • Work as part of the team to develop and drive the sales strategy.

Key Performance Indicators:

  • Total monthly project value of $150K*.
  • Attend 8-10 assessment appointments per week or $100,00 project value quoted
    per week.
  • Post sale cancellation rate of less than 10%
  • Proposals are to be provided to the client no longer than 48 hours after the initial assessment.

About You:

  • Sales experience with a proven record of delivering on targets in the trade sector.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to identify and convert new business opportunities from prospect to customer.
  • Ability to present a case study on delivering on solution selling to a client.
  • Skills in negotiation and execution at an executive level.
  • Ability to work autonomously and in a team contributing to leads and achieving a common goal.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a “hunter attitude”.
  • Commercially astute with and strategic thinking capabilities.
  • Driven and ambitious individual with a strong desire to succeed.
