I’m sure that you are all aware of the changes to the NSW and VIC regulations with increased restrictions applying to major cities.

As such, it is important to note that we are not able to service all works as we normally would.

Please see the following comprehensive list of services and requirements as per the Government Health Order.

The following is ALLOWED:
– Reactive maintenance.
– Emergency works.

The following is NOT ALLOWED:
– Construction work.
– Non-urgent maintenance.
– Preventative maintenance.

What is considered emergency works?

Emergency building repairs is work that:
1. Poses danger to the health and safety of people, or risk to property, in or near the dwelling, if not done as soon as possible.
2. Could not be done promptly if time had to be given to writing a contract.

What are considered essential services?

Essential & emergency services (relating to trade services) are considered:
– Plumbing (Water, Drainage, Sewerage, & Sanitation)
– Electrical (Services & Operation Of Energy Systems)
– Telecommunications (Internet, Phone, Data)
– Roofing (Repair Works)
– Gas
– Waste Management (Collection, Treatment, & Disposal)
– Commercial Cleaning (Business & Strata/Common Property ONLY)
– Structural emergency works
– Other trade services relating to emergency works
**We have sought additional clarification on reactive maintenance and this has been grouped with emergency works and IS PERMITTED.

What areas do these increased lockdown rules impact?

The new lockdown area AFFECTS the Service Heroes service area in the Greater Sydney area and the Melbourne area.

Can I still go to my office job?

You are NOT ALLOWED to go to your office job UNLESS you are unable to complete it from anywhere else. It is a requirement that you are allowed to work from home if it is possible.

My toilet isn’t working can Service Heroes attend?

YES, we can attend as this is considered REACTIVE REPAIRS and is ALLOWED. Please call us to book it in.

I want to renovate my bathrooms can Service Heroes assist?

NO, Service Heroes is not able to do this work as it is not considered essential or emergency work.

Can Service Hereos come and install or service my air conditioner?

Unfortunately, in 99% of cases, we ARE NOT able to assist you with air conditioning works. The general direction is that you can always wear more clothes for warmth.

Please note, this does not affect all of our clients, if you are considered at risk due to health reasons please give us a call and we can dispatch our technicians to assist. This is where it is for health reasons ONLY.

I want to install a chandelier because I think it would look great on my stairs, can Service Heroes attend?

Unfortunately, we ARE NOT able to assist you with this until after the restrictions ease. That said, please call us and we can book it in tentatively.

One of my lights has broken, can Service Heroes attend?

YES, we can attend if this light is required in order to see and navigate around the property. This is considered REACTIVE MAINTENANCE and we can still complete this type of work according to the Health Order.

I want a door cut down so it will shut easier, can Service Heroes do this?

We definitely can, however in 99% of cases, we ARE NOT able to assist you with this until after the restrictions ease. That said, please call us and we can book it in tentatively.

I am thinking about getting solar installed on my roof, can Service Heroes do this?

Not right now, however, we are able to start working on the proposal for you! With the use of our advanced software, we are able to simulate the system design, and forecast your annual savings. Once the restrictions have eased, we will be ready to install your new solar system!

My property has been impacted by flooding and I need assistance?

WE CAN ATTEND. We are really sorry to hear that, we can dispatch our flood restoration team within the hour, to attend your property and ensure that it is safe. Please note that it is very important to get someone out there as quickly as possible to reduce the likelihood of dangerous mould.
